AGRISOL aims to promote the uptake of agrivoltaics in Europe through tools, services and market support measures. The project addresses the main social, technical, economic and regulatory barriers limiting the adoption of agrivoltaics, by promoting stakeholder engagement, the promotion of best practices and the co-creation of innovative solutions. AGRISOL operates in several European countries with a multi-stakeholder approach geared towards replicability.

Beneficiaries

  • Farmers and agricultural associations
  • Agrivoltaic developers and market operators
  • Policymakers and public authorities
  • Energy communities and citizens
  • Research organizations and universities
  • Investors and financing bodies
  • Civil society organizations

Objectives

  • Increase the social acceptance of agrivoltaics across Europe
  • Identify and reduce barriers to the wider uptake of APV
  • Develop support tools and market uptake measures
  • Strengthen stakeholders’ skills and capacities
  • Promote replicable and sustainable agrivoltaic models

Actions

  • Analysis of the European and national agrivoltaic context
  • Collection and analysis of stakeholder perceptions through surveys and interviews
  • Identification and assessment of European good practices
  • Organization of national co-creation workshops
  • Development of support tools, capacity-building activities, and awareness-raising initiatives

Impact

  • Direct engagement of more than 200 European stakeholders through surveys, interviews, and workshops;
  • Implementation of 5 national co-creation workshops in Italy, Greece, Denmark, Spain, and Poland;
  • Analysis of at least 25 European agrivoltaic good practice case studies;
  • Development of replicable tools and support measures adaptable to different national contexts;
  • Establishment of a European multi-stakeholder network dedicated to promoting agrivoltaics;
  • Strengthened dialogue between public and private actors, supporting the development of more effective support measures and contributing to the creation of an enabling ecosystem for sustainable, replicable, and locally adapted agrivoltaic models.

Results

  • Development of a European report on perceptions, attitudes, and barriers related to agrivoltaic uptake, based on direct stakeholder engagement;
  • Creation of a catalogue of APV good practices, including analysis of success factors and replication potential;
  • Definition of a set of co-created support measures (economic, technical, social, and political) to facilitate the market uptake of agrivoltaics;
  • Development of operational tools for stakeholders and decision-makers, including assessment tools, capacity-building resources, and awareness-raising materials;
  • Formulation of strategic and policy recommendations to support the wider deployment of agrivoltaics at national and European levels.
