Beneficiaries
- Rural women entrepreneurs who manage or aspire to develop small tourism-related businesses, such as artisan workshops, boutique accommodations, farm stays, local food experiences, cafés and restaurants, cultural centres, heritage sites, and experience-based tourism activities.
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) institutions and professionals who can integrate DESTInE’s training into curricula
- Stakeholders involved in rural development and digital transformation.
- Tourism businesses and consultants supporting digital literacy.
Objectives
- To strengthen the digital skills of rural women entrepreneurs in the tourism, hospitality, and cultural heritage sectors, helping to reduce the digital divide and gender inequalities.
- To develop tailored training programmes aligned with labour market needs and European VET priorities, promoting modular, flexible, and competence-based learning.
- To enable participants to apply their digital skills in real business contexts, through practical workshops and hands-on activities, supporting the adoption of innovative digital solutions. The AI-powered Online Learning Platform ensures continuous, personalised learning and improves access to high-quality digital resources.
- To contribute to a more inclusive and resilient entrepreneurial ecosystem by boosting confidence, digital readiness, and growth opportunities for women in rural areas.
Actions
- Needs analysis of rural women entrepreneurs through research and focus groups in partner countries.
- To develop a modular training programme with 8–10 courses on digital skills, marketing, e-commerce, and digital tools.
- To create step-by-step digital toolkits for practical application of the learned skills.
- To organize local hands-on workshops to allow participants to apply their skills in real-world contexts.
- To launch and pilot an interactive online platform with AI-supported personalized learning paths.
- Transnational webinar to test the platform and promote collaboration among partner countries.
- Dissemination and communication activities to share results, raise awareness, and ensure project sustainability.
Impact
- 30 rural women entrepreneurs participate in the needs analysis for the creation of a training programme consisting of approximately 8-10 modules and as many digital toolkits, supported by an interactive online platform.
- At least 80% of local workshops participants are expected to improve their digital skills, and over 75% are expected to increase their confidence in using digital tools, with more than 100 certificates issued through the platform.
- An estimated 90% of stakeholders are expected to recognize the relevance of the results, while at least three partners and other training institutions will integrate the materials into their programmes. In this way, DESTInE aims to foster new collaborations and strengthen training provision in rural tourism and digital skills.
