Why the Borgo
Borgo Danilo Dolci is a symbolic place for the history of work in our territory. Reconnecting with the work of Danilo, who linked the world of work to the fight against unemployment, the mafia and poverty, promoting decent employment as the basis for democracy, this event aims to take up his legacy and reinterpret it in the light of contemporary challenges. Nowadays, talking about work means addressing issues such as environmental sustainability, technological innovation and continuous updating of one’s skills, but also strengthening the capacity for initiative and entrepreneurial development within the territory.
Why participate in
This event aims to strengthen the link between training and the labour market, and support the growth of skills in different strategic sectors, such as energy, agrifood and tourism.
What we’ll do
After an introductory session, participants will be invited to take part in a discussion on the current challenges the world of work is facing, from both the perspectives of employees and enterprises, with a particular focus on the context of the twin transition (green and digital).
Participants will then take part in a social café, where they will reflect, in groups, on two fundamental matters: what skills are most in demand by enterprises and what skills are offered by workers.
This will be followed by a sharing moment for all participants to exchange ideas, experiences and opportunities for collaboration across different sectors.

The event is organized thanks to TRANSFORM
TRANSFORM is a project funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ programme. Its objective is to enhance the skills of workers and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) active in sectors that are strategic for the dual ecological and digital transition: energy, agri-food and tourism. The project also aims to consolidate collaboration between public and private actors, promoting co-creation processes with the aim of making training courses increasingly consistent with the real needs of the labour market.
