Sustainable Steps aims to engage young people and educators in sustainable and inclusive practices to contribute to the development of skills and knowledge for a greener future. Through its activities, the project also aims to raise awareness of the three pillars of sustainability: social, economic, and environmental.

Beneficiaries

  • Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds or with fewer opportunities, including young migrant and refugees
  • Youth workers and volunteers

Objectives

  • Promoting the pillars of sustainability: the social, environmental and economic one
  • Supporting young people and youth workers in the development of green skills
  • Promoting the social integration of young people in vulnerable situations

Actions

  • Development of educational resources on the three pillars of sustainability (environmental, economic and social)
  • Develop resources for natural building, gardening, and agricultural sustainability, with a focus on youth and youth workers
  • Support young refugees and migrants by promoting social integration via gardening activities
  • Providing training for young people and youth workers on using agricultural land for sustainable practices

Impact

  • Social inclusion through project activities, especially those related to gardening.
  • Youth empowerment and skill development in terms of sustainability.
  • Dissemination of sustainable practices in youth centers, contributing to a more ecological and responsible approach among young people and local communities.
  • Active involvement of at least 6 youth workers and 12 young people per country in project activities.

  • 30 micro-learning resources associated with the challenges
  • Inclusive and Sustainable Gardening Programme
