The ENSURE project aims to enhance the skills and resilience of emergency responders, such as firefighters and search and rescue teams, in facing increasingly frequent challenges related to climate change, including wildfires, floods, and extreme weather events. ENSURE focuses on training and upskilling through an innovative approach based on the Quadruple Helix Innovation Model, integrating technology, cooperation, human resilience, and community engagement.

Objectives
- Improve the professional skills of emergency responders by integrating new technologies and collaborative practices.
- Develop new professional profiles within the emergency sector, including:
- Disaster Response Technologist (DRT)
- International Disaster Response Coordinator (IDRC)
- Community Resilience and Engagement Officer (CREO)
- Mental Health and Resilience Trainer for Emergency Services (MHRTES)
- Create an innovative training system based on online courses, virtual mentoring, and workshops.
- Utilize an educational game (“ENSURE Game”) to support experiential learning and continuous skills developmentObjectives
Actions
- Open and self-paced training courses to improve technical and digital skills.
- Virtual mentoring with industry experts.
- Mobility and Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops to ensure widespread dissemination of skills.
- Use of the ENSURE Game to integrate experiential learning with practical training.
