Com4AgriPlant aims to contribute to the environment and climate change mitigation through increased production and consumption of plant-based food, all by developing an innovative learning methodology and tools using comics for adults. The project responds to the lack of promotion and lifelong learning opportunities, the lack of sustainability competences of different adult educators, and the lack of knowledge about the benefits of plant-based production and consumption on the side of food producers and consumers.

Beneficiaries

  • Adult educators/trainers at adult education organizations, working with food consumers and producers.
  • Consultants at local/regional development agencies, working with food consumers and producers.
  • Agricultural consultants at agricultural advisory services, working with food consumers and producers.
  • Lecturers at agricultural schools (secondary/tertiary level), working with students of these schools.
  • Adult learners, such as producers and/or farmers and consumers.

Objectives

  • Create an alternative and open learning path about plant-based agricultural production and consumption using comics.
  • To contribute to the environment and climate change mitigation through increased production and consumption of plant-based food.
  • To promote plant-based farming and consumption by developing an innovative learning methodology and tools for adults on the topic of plant-based farming and consumption.

Actions

  • Research on existing policies and learning opportunities
  • Creation of Com4Agriplant learning methodology & toolkit
  • Creation and delivery of Com4Agriplant training course
  • Development of Com4Agriplant e-learning platform

Impact

  • Over 50 methodologies and tools created and uploaded on Com4AgriPlant e-learning platform.
  • Over 60 adult educators/counselors/lecturers engaged directly, and over 200 adult educators/counselors/lecturers engaged indirectly in the project.
  • Over 180 end beneficiaries engaged directly in the project.
  • Improved sustainability competences, particularly in sustainable farming and food consumption, of producers and consumers.
  • Enhanced theoretical and practical knowledge for teaching/training/counseling activities for trainers, consultants and lecturers
  • Improved education, motivation, and advising in sustainable farming and food consumption for trainers, consultants and lecturers.
  • Improved knowledge and skills for informed decisions on plant-based production and consumption of food producers and consumers.
  • Increased awareness of the importance of plant-based practices for the environment and climate change.
