Green New Home aims to promote sustainable practices in the field of entrepreneurship for migrants and refugees by identifying key competences, developing educational materials, creating a competence assessment tool, and designing a mobile app to support learners in developing their own personalized strategy to apply their new skills and establish sustainable businesses.

Objectives

  • Define the core competences and skills of disadvantaged learners, particularly migrants and refugees, in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship based on research, to develop these competences and ensure their assessment.
  • Raise awareness and motivate learners towards sustainable behaviors and provide them with strategies to become sustainable entrepreneurs.
  • Improve the competences of adult educators in order to facilitate training for sustainable entrepreneurs.

Actions

  • Development of the definition of core competences and skills, based on a three-stage research, needed to enhance the skills of migrants and refugees in relation to sustainable entrepreneurship.
  • Development of an Assessment and Training Space based on the definition of core competences and skills.
  • Development of the Personalised Strategy Maker mobile app.

Impact

  • Improvement of disadvantaged learners’ competences in sustainable entrepreneurship, increasing employment and self-employment opportunities.
  • Advanced training for educators on methodologies to support sustainable entrepreneurship among migrants and refugees, also through access to innovative tools such as educational materials and the app.
  • Behavioral change towards sustainability through the promotion of the sustainable economy, encouraging more environmentally and socially responsible business models.
  • Piloting of the developed materials with 180 learners and 30 educators.
  • Direct dissemination of results to 300 adult educators and 600 disadvantaged learners, and indirectly to 25,000 contacts.
